JOB TITLE:       Associate Director of Sales
REPORTS TO:  Director of Sales & Marketing

Provides leadership and direction to a team of group sales associates to grow account share and drive revenue. Establishes sales targets by account for sales team associates to achieve the overall revenue goals.   Maintains accountability for achieving revenue goals, team booking pace goals, guest and associate satisfaction and overall financial resort performance.

Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area.
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
• 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management.
• Proven leadership skills in supervising and managing associates.
• Lodging sales experience.
• Account management experience.

Managing Sales Activities
• Verifies area Sales and Marketing strategies and programs are in alignment with the overall resort goals.
• Tracks account growth and profitability to positively influence customer purchasing behavior.
• Implements the brand's service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process and focuses on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of the hotel's' sales objectives.
• Reviews the Smith Travel Research STAR report, reviews competitive shopping reports, researches competitor's sales team strategies and uses other resources in order to grow occupancy and RevPAR and increase market share.
• Gains understanding of the hotel's primary target customer to generate better business solutions.
• Provides customer intelligence in evaluating the market and economic trends that may lead to changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Evaluates market and economic trends and introduces appropriate changes in sales strategies to generate increased revenue and establish competitive position in the market for each property.
• Manages the development of a strategic account plan for the demand generators in the market, and confirms sales team is leveraging demand engines to full potential.
• Focuses on proactive selling and penetrating accounts.
• Focuses on building property's top line revenue by developing a sales strategy that utilizes on-property and off-property sales channels to deliver results.
• Channels customer feedback, as appropriate, on all aspects of resort experience.
• Supports hotel development efforts within their area to gainfully grow market share, provides input, as required, to the feasibility of projects, pro-forma development and approval, and sales and marketing plan development.
• Develops actionable recommendations and responses to optimize performance and drive growth and profitability.
• In partnership with Revenue Management/DOSM, develops business sales strategy plan to achieve property goals; utilizes the property diagnostic process to maximize revenue and profits.
• Partners with Revenue Management/DOSM for the annual pricing process, request for proposal (RFP) and development of the marketing business plan.
• Monitors local business outlook and consults with Revenue Management/DOSM on strategy.
• Creates and implements solutions for hotels that are not performing to expectation.
• Maintains successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment for the owner and Marriott International.
• Sets sales targets by account, associate to achieve the overall revenue goals.
• Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.
Building Successful Relationships
• Develops and manages internal key stakeholder, dept. relationships.
• Develops strong community and public relations by participating in local market trade shows and client events.
• Develops a close working relationship with operations to execute service and selling strategies.
• Monitors the effective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process by creating mechanisms to channel issues to leadership and/or other appropriate stakeholders.
• Manages and directs the sales team and promotes accountability to drive superior business results.
• Creates effective structures, processes, jobs and performance management systems are in place.
• Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using the smart plans aligns performance and rewards, appropriately addresses performance issues and holds staff accountable for successful results.
• Forecasts talent needs and manages talent acquisition strategy with DOSM to minimize lost time due to turnover.
• Keeps an active list of the competition's best sales people and executes a recruitment and acquisition plan with DOSM.
• Champions leadership development and workforce planning priorities by assessing, selecting, retaining and developing diverse, high-caliber talent that can lead the organization today and strengthen the leadership bench for the future; continues to upgrade the sales & marketing talent; works with DOSM to anticipate future talent needs based on business growth plans.
• Reviews sales activity performance and addresses opportunity areas with direct reports.
• Identifies training needs and verifies that associates understand and execute against the key account plans.
• Provides day to day leadership to the team, comprising of EMM and sales managers, to achieve assigned revenue and resort goals.
• Maintains accountability for achieving revenue goals, team booking pace goals, guest and associate satisfaction and overall financial. 



JOB TITLE:       Marketing Coordinator
REPORTS TO:  Director of Sales & Marketing
Job Overview.  This position supports the organization by partnering with the DOSM in generating profitable revenue to increase RevPAR, market share, and brand awareness for the Hotel. As directed by the DOSM the marketing coordinator leverages marketing programs at the property and market level ensuring marketing efforts are effectively integrated with selling efforts for the organization. Monitors relevant national marketing programs, channels, platforms, and initiatives.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Develops and implements property and market-based plans based on local need-time and demand generation opportunities
Maintains and grows hotel business with effective marketing plans and programs
Focuses on marketing initiatives to create customer loyalty and increase market share
Focuses on building hotel's top line revenue by executing against the sales strategy
Analyzes and directs the property in decisions for marketing opportunities
Provides marketing channel mix (e.g. advertising (on and off line), promotions, public relations, direct mail, email, and demand generator links) planning as part of the
Maintain hotel presence on social media channels and provide reports as directed. Update website content as directed
Manages daily content, start and end dates of promotions, through all website platforms.
Writes, creates, designs and produces in-house promotional materials, flyers, posters, etc.
Works with the resort's public relations and social media company on record to aid in promoting the resort and aids in designing the resort fact sheets for distribution, in coordination with public relations agency.
Computer proficiency in Excel, PageMaker, Aldus, Graphics, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML/CSS and In-design.
Develop and build positive relationships with media and industry partners in key markets
Proficient in Photography
Tracks all advertising expenses and invoices.
Champion and manage the Social Media strategy in line with the brand positioning and hotels' stories. Specific focus on guest engagement
Work with internal and external resources to define clear positioning for relevant outlets that resonates under the overall hotel positioning.
Responsible for content and accuracy of annual marketing plan compiled jointly with DOSM.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 
More than two years of post high school education, but less than a degree from a four-year college.  Experience required by position is from one to two full years of employment in a related position with this hotel or other hospitality organization(s).
Proficient in various software, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office. 
CITY knowledge a plus
Proficiency PageMaker, Aldus, Graphics, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML/CSS and In-design. 

Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors and fellow employees.  Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills required.
May be required: to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages,
